I spent a good deal of money on a 5x8 oval rug, in the 'honey multi' color scheme. The rug was beautiful. It is durable- we've had two dogs and it is in a high traffic area, and it has physically held up. After two years, though, it has faded incredibly. It is not really subject to sun fading, as it is shaded in our living room, and only a small part of it gets sun daily. In the area that gets no sun, we have a coffee table that is an old blanket chest, so it is flush to the floor - and when we move it, the color difference is incredibly noticeable. It used to be brown and red with some green, but it has faded to pink and light green and the brown has all but disappeared. I would expect this to happen after many many years, but not after two. I wouldn't spend the $600-ish again. Disappointed.
I love these rugs!! I own two of the 5 by 8 ones and one of the 7 by 9 ones. The colors are great, they are easy to spot clean and vacuum. The only complaint I have is that the braiding has separated on my oldest rug. It was used in a high traffic area, the kitchen, and after about 4-5 years it began to separate in several places. I could probably take it somewhere and have it sewed back together but it is so big I have just not done it. I would recommend the rug but just realize if used in a high traffic area it may not last as long as you would expect.
I ordered your 7'x9' oval Bean's Braided Wool Rug in the Dark Khaki/Russet color. I received it within the same week ordered, very impressed! It is everything that I knew L.L. Bean would provide. The quality is superb, the stitching is strong and thoroughly done. I also ordered the crescent shape for in front of the sink, very comfortable for standing on. Our dinette always had that "bare" look and "cold" feel, but this rug had made the total difference and has completed our dinette with the most beautiful coloring and warm rug. Thanks so very much. I've had this rug for 2 years and for 2 years it has pretty much been like stepping on a surfboard. Finally I bought a rubber underlay that is the same size as the rug and rounded the corners to fit. Hasn't budged. It is a beautiful rug that has worn well and stands up to dog claws and lots of vacuuming.
