My rug arrived bright and beautiful, but within a few weeks was drab and grey, and I am careful whenever entering the house that my shoes are clean or removed. Nor did having it cleaned help at all. The underside still looks wonderful, but the top is almost recognizable, and certainly no longer matches the underside. Overall, I've found owning frustrating and disappointing.
I have found that almost every household item I have purchased from L.L. Bean is great if seldom in active use, but if purchased for everyday use, the items--bedspreads, rugs, etc.--hold up poorly.
This is a beautiful rug and was just what we were looking for for our Vermont living room. Unfortunately, after less than 2 years, and only 1 year of full time use, there are some snags in the weave (not too bad) and several of the seems are coming apart. I plan to contact LL Bean to see how we can stitch them back together. Otherwise, it's wonderful. I did not notice other reviewers having this problem, so perhaps ours is a fluke.
I've owned this rug for a number of years. I have it my living room under the coffee table. It hasn't faded and looks as new as the day I brought it home. It was most definitely worth the money. The colors are so vibrant and lovely I've received many compliments.
I bought the 9x12 version of this rug for our new house. It was lovely and I enjoyed the bright multi color in my dining room, but the rug ripped in two places before the first year ended. I sewed the carpet and flipped it over. This time it ripped again in a new place. I took it up and have not used it for more than a year. Since it was expensive, more than a thousand dollars, I am reluctant to throw it away, but it can't be used as it is. It is currently folded up awaiting repair.
