We have 4 of these rugs, all oval, in different sizes, in a summer home that will be our retirement home. They looked very nice at first, but have not stood up well at all to our 2 lively dogs. I've spent hours mending the rugs, and we're at the home only 2-3 months per year. We are seriously considering replacing 2 of them, and at the cost of them, that's distressing. If the rug will be in a high traffic area, or if you have pets or young children, I would not recommend purchasing it. If it will be in a guest bedroom or other area not often used, it should be fine.
I bought the 7'x9' in bright multi about a year ago. I use it under my kitchen table with light foot traffic (no pets/no kids). The room is a little dark, no windows, which is why I decided to go for the bright multi. I am really happy with how the rug looks (very bright! rainbow of colors!). It also looks nice with the mix match of wood tones I have in my kitchen. I haven't noticed any pulling of threads when I vacuum or braids coming apart that others complain of in their reviews, though it is important to note that the rug only sees light foot traffic in my space (no kids/no pets). Overall, I'm very happy with my purchase. I'd buy this rug again for my other spaces.
We bought the runner plus the 8 x 11. The runner is just fine. The large rug started developing pulls in the yarn after a few weeks. Nothing terrible, but unsightly nevertheless. Considering the high price, we would not buy them again.
I am shocked by the glowing recommendations for this rug. I have received two (one as a replacement) of these rugs and both have completely come undone and unraveled. The rug is in our home office and does not experience a lot of traffic. The braids have disconnected from each other and the rug has simply fallen apart. Needless to say this is not of the quality I have come to expect from LL Bean. ONe rug returned...the second rug in the trash. Look elsewhere when purchasing a braided rug.
