This is the third twin size blanket I have purchased as I am using them on twin size beds for grandchildren. This most recent purchase was several years after the first two purchased. The red stripe is not the same color red as in the first two purchased. It will have to be good enough. Other than that the blankets are great.
All my life, I've wanted a Hudson Trading Company Point Blanket. I remember sleeping under one when I was a small child in Buck's Harbor Maine in the 1960's. I had the wherewithal to buy one recently, and I just did it. It was everything I remember and more. This isn't just a blanket. It's a piece of history. To those who are thinking about it - just do it. To those who don't understand the history and significance of this blanket - look it up. To own one is to own a piece of history of North America. I can't wait to be able to buy one for each of my three children.
I have wanted this blanket for a long time. I made a decision this past year that I was done with our down comforters and wanted to switch to wool blankets. I grew up using wool blankets and missed the cozy warmth and comforting heft of them. We are so happy to have made the change and are in love with this classic and iconic blanket. It is beautiful and warm. On top of the Hudson's Bay blanket we use a wool comforter with duvet. So far, on the coldest New England nights we are warmer than we have ever been. In fact some nights, too warm and we peel back the comforter leaving just the top sheet and Hudson's Bay blanket. A couple of months after we made this purchase through L.L. Bean we were re-doing a spare bedroom and bought a second Hudson's Bay blanket from another retailer because L.L. Bean only offers this candy-stripe version. While we love the candy-stripe, there are so many other colors. I wish L.L. Bean would stock other colors. Nonetheless, I highly recommend this wool blanket. We will take wool over down all the time now.
