I loved the look of these chairs (and tables) when I bought them a few years ago. Since then, even though we store them in the basement or garage the entire winter, they have rotted twice. I have had to sand them down and replace slats and paint them! Have to do it again this summer, they are so depressing looking. i don't recoemment unless you use them inside or in a covered porch and cover them in the rain!
We purchased 4 Adirondack Chairs 5 or 6 years ago. The chairs are on the deck exposed to rain, sun and wind but are stored in a dry shed or cellar in the winter. So far I have had to rebuild all of the chair bottoms replacing seat slats, frames and front legs because they have rotted. This winter I am working on the chair backs replacing rotted parts. The reason the wood rots so easily is because the chairs are assembled and then spray painted. Water seeps between unpainted joints and also penetrates the screw holes and rots the seat slats and other parts. Ends of cut parts are not finished allowing water to wick up causing rot. The chairs are nice to look at but after a few years they're fire wood unless you don't mind fabricating parts and rebuilding them. The upside is that I've learned how to make Adirondack Chairs!

Prosnot performing well
We visited the LLBean store in Maine and had these chairs shipped to us in California. We live in a mild climate and unfortunately the chairs did not hold up well. They're wobbly and the wood deteriorated.
We bought 2 Adirondack chairs and a small table. The chairs are really comfortable and the table is perfect for setting down your wine and hors d'ouvres as you sit in your chairs and watch the sun set.
It definitely takes two people to put the chairs together but the directions are pretty good, so it isn't an onerous task.
The finish on the chairs and table is good. We bought white.
Overall, it was a great purchase and we look forward to relaxing in them every chance we get.
