The chairs are made in USA for the first thing! They are very comfortable and we will probably order 2 more. Gave 5 stars but we have only had them 1 month.
This is a really lovely and well made chair. Unfortunately it is really physically very small. I am not a big guy, about 5'9" and 180lbs and it feels and looks like I'm sitting in a kids chair. Even my sweetheart, who is 5'2", commented that it feels small to her. I read all the reviews on LLBean.com before I ordered and many of them said that it was small but I thought, "How small could it be? It's LL Bean, after all." Well, trust me, it's small. I wouldn't buy another, even though it is well made and well finished.
I am glad to have read the reviews, they do help. I also appreciate LL Bean's comments concerning the reviews. I get LL Bean online and just happened to open it this morning advertising Summer furniture - Adirondack furniture being featured. It immediately interested me because I had just put out my 2 white adirondack chairs yesterday and was so disappointed on how they look from over the winter - both being stored in my shed since October. One in particualr is peeling badly. Granted I have had them a few years, and could not wait to get them. They have been on my front porch stone landing each season - my husband didn't want them on the lawn as he wanted to protect them more against being on the ground wet/rotting. One has held up pretty well, but the other one has not. In fact, I took it back once at the beginning of only the 2nd season because it had not held up well. They gladly replaced it without question. I am thinking about taking that one back yet again. The best part is that I do know LLBean stands behind all their products and I have no doubt they will replace it without a problem. I do absolutely love the chairs and everyone comments about them as they are a lovely esthetic plus to the landscape of my home.
