We have only had our chairs a couple days, but they look great and are very comfortable. I'm glad my husband put them together~looked like quite a few parts to me! If they last well, as most reviews have indicated, we are going to really enjoy them.
I have two of these chairs, Oak with natural finish, and they are about 1 year old. Almost immediately I found the finish becoming rough. Before the first season was over, the finish was turning dark and the screws and bolts were leaking dark stains onto the wood. Cleaning the chairs lightened but did not remove the stains.
After one season, I completely disassembled the chairs, sanded the wood, and refinished with stain and Spar Urethane Varnish. I reassembled with stainless steel screws and hardware.
The chairs are now back to their original look and NOT developing stain from the rain and sun. My labor (at my age) is free but the stainless steel hardware was expensive. Had I hired this done, it would have cost more than the original chairs.
I purchased 6 natural chairs and 4 natural side tables. I purchased from llbean over local vendors due to wanting the natural wood and not wanting to finish them myself. The site states excellent durability but after only one night and some rain all the chairs and tables feel rough as the wood absorbed water. I feels as if there is no finish on the chairs. I am disappointed as I have always gotten good quality from llbean.
