The bad news - I purchased many different items from the Adirondack line - including these chairs, reclining chairs, foot stools and two types of tables in the natural finish. Almost immediately the finish wore off in a rain storm and within a few weeks of delivery the product looked old, worn and stained. So I'd recommend you stay away from the natural finish.
The good news - I returned all the products to my local store this weekend and was treated wonderfully. Two people helped me unload my car, while another two helped do the exchange and reorder.
I hope the red finish works better than the natural did, but am very reassured that if I have a problem - LL Bean will make things right. The bottom line is that every once in a while a product fails, so its great to purchase from a great organization that provides such exceptional service.
While the chair is comfy and easy to assemble, having purchased 5 of these chairs just over a month ago for our sunny deck, they are all getting black mold on them....and have become noticeably faded. The last project I needed for the fall was to have to sand them down and re-varnish them....
Love the chairs, but feel there is a problem with the wooden pegs that keep the chair from folding. They don't stay put and keep coming out. Could be dangerous .
