After 1 year shopping for outdoor furniture, I decided to trust L.L.Bean. I was afraid I would not like the low adirondack style. Visited an LLBean store (lucky to live near one) to check out the colors in person, and to sit in one. Very comfortable. Husband agreed. All the colors are beautiful. Selected navy and it is gorgeous, especially in sun. Very different. Like blueberry. Most comfortable w/o cushions (we are very tall) but cushions make it easier to get out. (Considering exchanging seat&back cushions for seat-only.) Nice to have a seat cushion for those who don't want to sit so low. I wish LLBean made a double-rocker or porch swing in these colors. Husband assembled the chairs with no complaints. He is meticulous: 1st one took him 1.5 hrs, 2nd one half-hour. We're ready to buy 2 more!
This chair has sat on my covered porch for approximately two years (without being taken in for the winter) and has worn beautifully. My only issue is with that peg that gets removed for when you want to fold the chair. It wiggles a bunch and could fall out if you don't watch it. Otherwise, it's awesome for hanging out and relaxing... the armrests are just right for placing a drink on!
We received 2 adirondack chairs a couple of weeks ago. They are very well built and were easy to assemble. I was impressed with the wood, hardware, and finish (we bought the white painted ones). While not the cheapest available, they are a good value for the money. We're ordering 2 more.
We live on a very windy hill and other chairs we put on our porch have ended up overturned and smashed into our railing. We wanted a nice looking, comfortable, sturdy and somewhat heavy chair that would stay put. Our new Adirondack chairs fit the bill. We have had 50 mph gusts since they arrived and they haven't moved. They were easy to put together and look great too. We love them.
