We purchased two of these chairs for the cottage and our friends fight for the opportunity to sit in them. They fold like a dream so storage is easy; they are as comfy as can be and look great out on the point. We couldn't be happier with the craftsmanship. L.L. Bean does it again!
We have owned two oak L.L.Bean Adirondack chairs for more than 20 years. They started in CT and wound up here in northern CA. Admittedly, a wee bit rickety now from years of exposure to weather, but still a fine example of "classic" porch furniture. When we needed a pair of chairs for our newly built cabin porch in the Sierras, it was difficult to look elsewhere. I did do some comparison shopping for price and value in construction. I found that the L.L.Bean Adirondack could not be matched for either. They arrived on my door step with "lightening speed" and we brought them up to our cabin and assembled them on the front porch over the Thanksgiving holiday. They are beautiful, sturdy and comfortable.
Sturdy chair - doesn't wobble, nice size - not too big, folds easily, smooth and even paint finish, beautiful shade of navy blue with just the slightest hint of very deep purple. Pretty comfortable without a cushion, but it is better with a lower back pillow. I bought the matching folding navy side table which is a great size and the two together look like a Cape Cod postcard on my patio.
