I bought these chairs for my beach house porch. My only issue is that there is a "peg" that is inserted in the chair to keep the chair aligned. The peg is very loose and can easily come out. I saw another adirondack chair in a store where the peg is chained to the chair so that if it comes out it won't be lost. This would be a great enhancement to this product.
We bought two of these Adirondack chairs a couple of years ago. We live in a teeny cottage, so we have no place to store them inside during the winter. They have been outside, uncovered, in all weather for the last two years, and they still look brand new! This certainly isn't recommended, but I think it is a great indication of the excellent quality L. L. Bean is known for.
I bought 2 of these chairs and the matching side table for my front porch. I got them in Navy, which is actually a lovely shade of dark violet. I like the color much better than a true navy. The chairs are well made and comfortable. I found them a struggle to assemble, however. They would be much easier to assemble if the holes in the wood accommodated the carriage bolts. I had to pound the carriage bolts into the round holes in order to tighten the nuts on the carriage bolts, which was a major pain. Nice furniture, otherwise, and I expect these chairs to last a long time.
Living in a condo has its perks and its challenges. In many, the outdoor furniture needs to be stored away when not in use - this makes it easier for maintenance workers to get around. This fold-up outdoor furniture fits in the backyard and hangs nicely on the garage wall, allowing you to park your car in there as well. The design is classic, and the assembly was easy. Now that I've had my chair for a couple weeks, I'm ordering another. And my feet touch the ground!
