Several years ago I bought the Tropic-Weight Blazer in a size 44reg. I liked the blazer but it didn't look right even with the sleeves shortened. I finally gave it to a clothing drive. After reading other reviews, I ordered the blazer in a 42short. I am very pleased with the new blazer and how it fits my husband. The new blazer has facing in the back of the shoulder area which was missing in the older model. However this blazer is still way over-sized.
This blazer is phenomenal. I have owned two since the mid-90's. They have lived on four continents and have performed beautifully in all settings from traversing jungles to attending high level meetings in world capitols. After well over 10 years of wear, I still get compliments on these. But here is the thing. I am a woman and LL Bean no longer makes this for us. PLEASE bring this back for women LL Bean!
My husband is 6'3", 200lbs, medium build and normally a 46L. I ordered a 44R and it's still too big! The material/color is not as dressy as I thought it would be, so I'm just going to return it.
This is a great push-up-your-sleeves jacket. It's very casual and comfortable. I don't have to worry about hurting them. I own two, and they alway get comments.
