I have had 2 of these cotton blazers for over 10 years and loved them. Originally they were made with very small shoulder pads and being narrow- and roundshouldered and porky they did not flatter me at all. When they revised to include larger shoulder pads I bought 2 jackets of different colors and have worn them everywhere, even to the symphony. I'm sensitive to warm weather, being porky, and these cotton blazers are light and cool and look very crisp in the heat. From looking at the catalog I guessed that the compay was changing to a different jacket without shoulder pads, so I bought 2 more of the ones I already have because I like everything about them and don't want to be without them if my first ones ever wear out.... which, by the way, after 10 plus years, doesn't appear likely at this point. The cut of these jackets is very generous.
I wanted this blazer. But whae it arrived it was OVERSIZED by at least one size. An attempt to reorder/exchange resulted in it being out of stock. It is no longer listed on the web site so I guess it is gone for this season - why I can not determine. Customer service says it is just gone. If it ever comes back I will purchase it but at a size smaller than usual and would recommed it to others. BRING IT BACK.
As noted by others the coat runs at least two inches larger in the chest than sized. (42r fits like a 44r). So if you choose the smaller size number you'll be closer to your desired size. It is a comfortable coat for casual use without a tailored look. An excellent buy for the money I paid and a well made garment.
I liked the coat but I had taken the trouble to go to a clothing store and try on sports coats to make sure I was ordering the proper size. The Jacket I received was marked the size I ordered ( 46 reg.) but instead of a Reg. it was at least a large and much to big and long for me. I had to send it back. Since I had ordered it for a trip overseas I don't have the time to try ordering a smaller size.
