We just finised a major renovation of our home and I wanted to decorate our new master bedroom in a cottage look. I had been looking at this bed for years and finally took the plunge. Oh my!! I absolutely love this bed! It is perfect for our bedroom and looks wonderful with the Bean crochet bedskirt. My only wish is that the frame itself was painted white instead of black...but it really is not a problem since the bedskirt covers it.
Love it, love it, love it! Oh, and the shipping??? I thought it was going to take 5 - 6 weeks and we had it within a week! Awesome as always, LLBean!
Before I write about how great this bed it, let me tell you about LL Bean's Customer Service.
If anyone reading this is hesitant about ordering something they haven't seen and are worried that something won't work, hopefully what you will read will help you make your decision.
We had our mattress set delivered on a Saturday. We were upgrading from a queen bed to a king, so we didn't get the frame put together until they took away the old queen bed. We were unable to attach the foot and head boards to the frame because the holes didn't line up. I immediately called LL Bean (keep in mind this is Saturday) and over the course of the weekend we concluded that we had received the wrong frame. Customer service bent over backwards to make sure we had a solution to our problem. Monday morning the new frame was shipped via air and on Tuesday we had the new frame!
The frame works with the bed and we couldn't be happier. The head and foot boards are substantial and very well built. It is a solid bed and there is no wobbling or squeaking anywhere. The foot board bows out a bit which I like because it gives room for the down comforter to fall at the foot of the bed. This will be a bed that is heirloom quality.
If I had to do it over, I wouldn't have done a single thing differently.

I bought the cottage bed frame at least 20 years ago. It has held up beautifully. The color remains true and there are no areas of wear. The frame has never needed any repair. It remains the best furniture investment I have ever made!
The headboard arrived with the frame and the footboard the next day...It came with the tools, I have no experience with tools and I put this together in 30 minutes! I have the twin size for my guest room, it is durable and looks sooo good! I am so happy I bought this bed!
