I rarely buy high-waisted jeans because I have no waist anymore. Unfortunately, although low rise jeans might fit my muffin-top, they are often too baggy on my now narrow hips & thighs. Thought I would give these Bean traditional-fit jeans a try because they are advertised as fitted through hips & thighs. I'm glad I did. I love these jeans. Good old fashioned heavy cotton denim. Not too tight in the waist. And not too tight in the thighs, either. Comfortable out of the bag. Cotton does shrink though so I bought my pair with regular inseam rather than my usual petite.
It's so great to find pants that fit at the waist AND are the right length! I'm short (5'3"), and I have a really hard time finding pants that are the right length....when L.L. Bean says "petite," they mean it! Thanks!
I was looking for jeans that have a higher waistband, and aren't too baggy in the legs. I was also looking for the "old" denim material that doesn't stretch. These do not stretch, and the waistband isn't slung down around my hips, which is good. They are too roomy in the thighs. The waistband is tight around my gut, even though I ordered my "true" size: 16. These are also about two inches too long. My inseam length is 30 and a half, so I never know what length to order.
I love these jeans. They are exactly what I have been looking for. Great fit. Many stores have switched to the stretchy type of jeans. These are the traditional style I like.
