Tried these for the first time because it is impossible to find woman's jeans that are just that, JEANS with no spandex! Much to my pleasure and comfort this cut fits me PERFECT like the old real denim brand that turned trader by adding spandex to all of their ladies cuts. These fit at the waist line, not below it, they fit in the seat and around the hips without strangling you or being too loose. I'm 5'5", 140 lbs curvy, athletic woman and I wear size 6. Although these jeans are now called Traditional, they are the same size, fit, appearance as the Classic Fit double L jeans I ordered a couple of years ago. While the sizing on many items of LL Bean women's clothing seems to have changed recently, it is nice to find an item that hasn't changed and can be relied on to fit.
Love the 100 % cotton which is hard to find for women. Length, waist & rise were fine however there is a jodphur effect from the iliac crest (top of hip) down to mid thigh. Took them to a tailor (with a heavy sewing machine) to remove the jodphur effect. While advertised as "straight" they really are for a more curvy figure.
