I knew the description said the classic fit high on the waist, these sit a bit higher than brands with the same fit description. I liked them too much to swap them out for another style.
I love the Stonewashed Classic Jeans - they fit as if they were made for me. Just don't order the black petite ones if the 28" inseam is your inseam. I ordered a pair last year; kept them even though they were 3/4" short. Then we moved and my winter clothes went into storage at the movers - I ordered them again and yes 3/4" too short. They are now in the Goodwill pile.
