I, too, have worn these jeans for years and continue to appreciate the quality and fit. When a pair gets too faded and stained, they rotate to the gardening drawer and a new pair joins "the family". I have stonewashed, black and rinsed. An earlier pair of the black did have white thread mixed in - the new pair does not.
I have owned several pairs of these jeans in black over the years. In the past, the fabric was a solid, true black.
Now the fabric has white lines in it, giving it a cheap and overall downscale look. I used to wear these jeans paired with a nice sweater or blazer for a casual-but-not-too-casual look. These jeans are no longer acceptable for that purpose. Please bring back the solid black fabric!
I still give these jeans 4 stars because they fit and wear well.
I have worn these jeans for years and have always been happy with the fit and style of them. I ordered two pair of the faded but when they came they looked more like stonewashed. The quality of the jeans is def. at LLbean standard and I would have given these five stars if the wash was just like the picture. I am not going to return them becuase I do like the stonewash. Just to let you know if you order the fade they will come in alot darker than the picture. That is why I gave them three stars. Other than the color dif. the fit is great and they wash wonderful and I dont see much shrikage from the dryer.
I agree with several of the other reviews I have just read. I have bought these classic LLBean jeans for over 20 years. The fit remains acceptable, but the quality of the material and the consistency of the fit are not reliable in the past couple of years. The black jeans are no longer of solid black material, but rather has white thread visible in the material. NOT good. Please get solid black back!
