I've worn Classic Fit jeans for years and (fortunately) the fit remains as good as ever. The fabric, however, has changed. It used to be consistent, season to season and year to year. Not anymore -- the last pair that I bought was made with a light-weight, almost flimsy denim, that feels and looks cheap. I hope the change isn't permanent -- I'd pay more to have the old quality back.
I've been wearing and buying this style for a long time and usually love them. Last pair seemed to be shorter and tighter in the inseam -- I don't grow anymore so it wasn't me! I returned them and have been reluctant to get another pair. And the black has changed colors -- from solid black to a sort of stone-washed black and then solid black again. I like both but I'd like to know what I'm getting before it comes!
Once I found the Double L style that fit best, the Classic jeans became my staple. The black are fabulous for travel - they look a notch above denim and are versatile enough to pair with a range of shirts and sweaters. I prefer the faded denim to the stonewashed (a bit dark and stiff) and wish they were all still available in summer weight.
The fit on these jeans is perfect. Not too baggy, just right. I have tried on other jeans that were 2 or 3 times as expensive but they don't fit as well as these. Other jeans would shrink length wise but not these. The best part is the tapered ankles. Don't change a thing.
