I've been on a quest for comfortable jeans. Real jeans, not knit ones or some sort of spandex hybrid. Jeans that aren't pinchy in the waist, tight in the tummy, or gap in the back. You'd think I was hunting for a purple squirrel. After months of looking, and a lot of near-misses, I tried several pairs of LL Bean jeans before deciding that I'd order a pair three sizes larger than my typical size and then just take them to the tailor to be taken in where they were too big. This strategy was successful. The too-large jeans didn't pinch in the waist or stretch uncomfortably tight across my tummy. They had a huge gap in the back that my tailor took in. The result? Jeans that fit this body and not some corporate ideal. It was an expensive fix, but at the rate I replace jeans, totally worth it.
I love these jeans. I own four pair. A color of each. Two in medium tall and two I'm the tall. I love them all. I'm a bit vintage when it comes to my clothes and that's what makes these perfect. They are a style from a bit ago. I'm not a trendsetter and do not like skinny jeans. Absolutely a perfect buy for me. Thank you LLBean
Although I wanted these jeans for working around the house, gardening, etc., I still wanted them to fit well because I'm just vain that way! These are high in the waist, but that's okay because they fit nicely through the hips and thighs and look good enough to wear to town for errands. I'm 5'3" and the regular size is the perfect length. One note: these are made from thick material. I expect it to hold up well but it's slightly uncomfortable on hot, humid days.
