Definitely your winter or work jeans; a heavier weight than most. These jeans will last a decade! Sadly the fit was okay until I hit the waist and then I knew it wasn't going to work; no way other than losing twenty pounds was the button ever going to meet the button hole. I wear a size 12, an hourglass shape overall, apple threatening, but these were definitely made for a woman with a very small waist.
I bought these jeans in exactly the same size and color a year ago and they fit like they were made for me. In fact, I still wear them all the time. I haven't gained any weight so I ordered the same size again and they are at least a size smaller if not more. I'm not ordering a larger size because I'm afraid they would be too big in the waist.
Every time I find something I like, you either discontinue it or change it in some way. It's very disappointing and time-consuming.
All the other clothes I purchased at the same time and the same size fit me fine but the jeans were way too small in the waist and hip area. If you have any other jeans that would match up like the other slacks I bought, please let me know.
If you are like me and want a pair of soft, yet sturdy jeans that fit on your waist (as jeans should!) and not halfway down your bottom, then the traditional double L jeans (straight leg) are for you. I am between a size 10-12 and ordered both to find out which worked best. I found the 12's were too large in the waist for me and returned them. The 10's seemed initially too tight but after one wash, appeared to magically conform to my figure and fit perfectly. They fit close to my body but not tight, that just right look for jeans. I am also 5'7" and chose the longer leg length which I would also recommend. I have since washed these jeans a few times and they have fit again and again just like the first time. I can hardly believe I have finally found jeans that fit the old-fashioned way - comfortably at the waist with a nice slim look. Thanks LL BEAN!
