I love the Traditional fit jeans.......and the waist high fit. It would be great if the jeans were made with a lighter weight jean fabric in the dark Indigo color. A few years back this style jean came in the Indigo color.
Love these jeans. I buy MT because I like them long. Also, they are all cotton -- no spandex. I hate spandex...it's too form fitting and is hot, and material is flimsy. Bean's double L is true to size and very comfy. Also, the fabric is substantial enough where they don't bag out. Will order another pair. Best part is they are long enough in the stride to be comfortable.
I was looking for jeans made of heavyweight, non-stretch denim suitable for Montana winters; jeans that fit at the natural waist and didn't have rhinestones, embroidery, flaps, etc. on the back pockets. These jeans meet the denim and glitz-free pockets specs but not the fit. They would be a lot more comfortable if the high-rise waistband didn't hit me in the ribs. They are described as "fitted through the hips and thighs." They aren't on me -- there's a lot of excess material flapping around. Finally, they are a little short. I'll keep them because of the fabric, but I won't buy another pair. I might recommend them to a friend who's built differently than me.
I wore LL Bean Classic jeans for years.... then as so often happens with an item I'm in love with, they stopped making them, seems like 8 years ago or more. I wear jeans every day, so mine had become quite tattered! Disappointed in the other LL Bean jean styles, I began a years-long, unsuccessful quest to find non-skinny, non-low-rise, classic, "normal" jeans. You know, normal jeans. Zipper longer than 2 inches. Comes up to the waist. Fine, call them mom jeans, I don't care.... I'm 50, fit, and these are just normal jeans to me. The rumors of mom jeans coming back in style didn't help my quest much, because most of the high rise jeans I find are 'skinny'. I want 'normal'.... appropriate for work, play, church, wherever I go.
Anyway, I'm so glad I looked on Bean again, and gave these a try. They are ALMOST like the old Classics! Now to order 10 pairs to stash in my closet, because they will probably stop making these tomorrow afternoon..... ha!
I should say that I'm 5'1" and about 107 pounds. The regular length on my old Classics always shrunk to just a bit too short, even for me, so this time I went with medium tall. Can't believe a 5'1" woman is medium tall! When I sit, they are perfect, when I stand, they are just a little bunchy on top of my shoes, but that's ok.
I got size 4 as I used to with Classics, and like those, these came a bit roomy, so I wash them in hot for a couple of washes to shrink them just a bit on purpose.
The jeans are nice and sturdy and comfy, great material as always, and they look great so far. Thanks so much!
