These jeans are true to size but I found the fit to be a little baggy in the leg and not very flattering. If you are used to the stretchy fabric of many jeans these will seem stiff.
I was desperate to find jeans that were 100% cotton and without spandex. My requirements were: 1. Warm in spring and fall in New England 2. Able to accommodate long underwear in the winter 3. OK to wear on hikes for all seasons 4. High enough on the waist to be professional These jeans are the answer! I'd worn Levi's jeans for years, but they no longer make anything without spandex that I can find. Most jeans now are so thin that they don't provide the warmth I need while walking 1.6 miles to work in winter. Bean's Double L jeans solved all these problems. I first bought a pair of petite jeans (I'm 5' 3" / 110 lbs), but they were too short. I bought a pair of regular, traditional jeans, and they were exactly what I needed. I was so pleased, I bought six more pairs of them! The only downsides were that it took ~2 months between ordering them and receiving them and they are still a bit short. When I sit, my socks are visible, but the length is fine when I stand / walk / hike. I can wear long underwear with the jeans and stay toasty warm in New England winters. I've worn them on summer hikes and most recently in northern CA on some major hikes. The waist height is ideal - no one will see anything they shouldn't, but it works well both with tucked and untucked tops. These jeans are perfect. I might order another six pairs, just to be sure I have plenty of jeans!
These jeans are the same as they have always been, but I REALLY wish they came in a slim leg. I bought the true-shape stretch jeans which I do like but would prefer just "regular" jeans in a traditional fit but with less baggy legs.
