For years, the Double L black traditional fit tapered leg jeans were the only jeans I wore. They were sturdy and a great weight for fall and winter. Now LL Bean has discontinued them. I tried the True Fit black jeans but they have way too much spandex stretch for me and are so light weight they can't be worn in cold weather without long johns. PLEASE bring back the Double L Traditional Fit (fitted through hip and thigh, sits at waist, tapered legs) in BLACK!
Love, love, love these jeans. They're like the jeans of old. No spandex, no stretchy material, just good old fashioned denim jeans and a good old fashioned price to boot! The fit is great, the denim is on the heavier side and this will be my brand for jeans from now on. It doesn't get any better!
The styles of the Double L Jeans have changed in the past year or so. What is now "Traditional" used to be "Natural" and the fit is different. The waist on this style, Traditional, doesn't sit quite as high as the waist on the Natural style and the waist is now too large. I need the length of the medium tall, which I ordered, but the rise isn't quite long enough. The higher waist of the older Natural style helped some by letting the waist actually sit at my waist. So, while these are an okay fit, they are not great. The Natural was a much better fit for someone with a smaller waist and who needs longer rise.
