Black jeans

If I order the jeans in black, they fit tighter than if I order them in any of the denim washes. Why is that?

Finally real denim, not stretch!

I'd recommend this product, with caveats! The legs are NOT tapered, so fit very loosely in thigh and calf areas (and I do NOT have thin legs). I normally wear a size 10 or 12; I ordered these jeans in a 12R. I'm 5'4"/140. The waist and top hip fit great. I'll see how they wash and hope the legs and butt will shrink somewhat. The fabric is substantial and I'm sure will wear a long time.

Come ON!

OK,I don't get the sizing AT ALL, especially the description of where the waist is supposed to be with any of he L.L. Bean jeans. I got these with the NOT indiscrete elastic waist on the sides, in a 6 regular. I have been a 6 for quite a while. The waist, oh that WAIST, hit me just under my boobs, for heaven's sakes. If you happen to remember what an "empire dress" is, and where the waist hit, that's exactly where these jeans zipped up to. Can't Bean just say "high waisted?" I, for one, DO NOT like jeans that come up past my belly button. I like my jeans to hit somewhat below that, but not way down like hip huggers, where I have to keep pulling them up constantly. In fact, I do not like any kind of pants that hit at my waist. It makes it darned uncomfortable to bend over and garden. It makes it very uncomfortable after I have dinner, if you know what I mean. I'm not asking that much. Bean USED TO make jeans that fit me perfectly, the old Adirondack jeans. I bought a lot of them. Unfortunately, I went down a couple of sizes and didn't fit anymore. At least BEAN can be more accurate in the description of the waist. "Traditional" or "Original" fit is completely meaningless. Even the sketch that shows where the waist is, isn't accurate. All I want is a comfortable pair of jeans! Thanks for the opportunity to vent.
