Based on other reviews, I decided to buy one size larger (L) than my normal size (M), and I'm glad I did! I wanted to have extra room for a sweatshirt or fleece to wear underneath, which would not have been possible with my regular size. It has Velcro adjustable wrist closures and a drawstring at the waist, so it doesn't feel TOO big. I have found the hood to be very spacious and gives good coverage, and it too is adjustable. As advertised, it does give great protection against rainy days. The outer shell has the look and feel of ripstop nylon. The only thing that doesn't thrill me is the "plastic-y" feeling of the inside (remember those raincoats we used to wear as kids?), and the fact that it does not have any air vents. When walking around doing nothing too strenuous it doesn't get too sweaty, but once you start with any vigorous activity such as hiking I found that it gets a bit clammy, even when wearing nothing thicker than a t-shirt underneath. I would recommend this for daily wear around town, in the yard or at a campsite, but not for more active outdoor activities.
Very hard to zip up. About the sixth try, I can get it zipped. Otherwise, good light weight jacket, wrinkle free, packs easily. So unhappy about the zipper that I'm planning to return it.
