Wore this jacket in the Galapagos Islands where it rained at least some part of every day. Compact enough for ultralite day pack and 100% waterproof in every downpour. However, I envied those with waterproof ponchos which were better over packs and for riding horses. Back home this is not stylish enough for wear out except for gardening or super casual days but I will use it for biking.
This jacket is great for the cool misty walks on the beach. Protects from the wind and the rain. One note of caution, with all the velcro, the sweater I was wearing caught on the velcro and pulled the fabric. Now I am more careful of what I wear underneath.
I just received my order today. It is a great fit (you might want to get a size up if you aren't skinny). The only thing to watch out for is the color. I got Cobalt Sea and it is much lighter in person than on the website. I can live with it though.
