I'm impressed with the lightweight fabric of the jacket and it's ability to keep me dry though it does need to be worn for the fabric's stiffness to work out. I've used it alone and as a shell over a fleece. It has worked well either way. On a cold rainy day, a fleece or a sweater are needed, because the jacket alone does not have much warmth.
I bought this jacket with traveling in mind. I needed a waterproof, packable, lightweight, hooded jacket. I also bought this jacket because it has Velcro. I like the Velcro, because I can close the jacket quickly when my hands are full.
I basically like most things about this jacket...nice roomy fit for layering, good rain resistance, great pockets. I don't like the Velcro as others have noted. One thing I really don't like and question is---why the white lining? I have the jacket in black and it would look so much better if the inside was the same color as the outside. The white inside color makes it look cheap and (to me) less fashionable. Does the white serve a function, i.e., is is some kind of coating? I still love my jacket, but I would like it oh so much better without the white! I would think twice about purchasing it again for that reason.
Very nice lightweight rain jacket, perfect for travel. I like the two-way zipper, great for extra room when sitting in the car. The black color makes the jacket well suited for city rainy days as well as wilderness wear. Good value, Me Likey!
