I bought this jacket when it first came out in pink. Must have been 5 years ago. It is lightweight and it is not stuffy even in hot rainy days in Texas. I wear them walking my dogs in light drizzle and it is perfect. My dogs have the matching trail model jackets in yellow and blue that I wish LL Bean would continue carrying since my newest puppy does not have a LLBean raincoat.
Just in from a soggy hike with the dogs and decided to finally review this jacket. I love it. Size large fits very well over a long-sleeve T & small gun on my belt (we're in the mountains; lots of big animals). It also fits fine over a light fleece. I have never gotten wet under this jacket. The pockets are super comfortable; hood allows excellent peripheral vision; soft facing under zipper is nice against neck and chin. The pics don't do it justice. Flattering, attractive fit. Well worth the price!
After searching for a quality rain jacket, I finally found one I like. The only way to improve it would be to change the velcro along the zipper to more snaps. Velcro tends to grab anything close to it. Also, change the black material on the left side collar to the same material/color as the jacket. It looks out of place in black.
This jacket is indeed lightweight and very waterproof - which is noce however it is a little snug and would be tricky to wear over warmer clothing layers.
