This is the perfect suitcase jacket... We purchased two...one for myself and one for my husband...we frequently travel to the Northern West and this will allow us to always be prepared for the rainy weather. The hood is ideal.. no need for umbrellas or hats!
Haven't actually worn it in the rain but did wear it on a day that was iffy and know that I will be quite pleased when it does rain. Wish I had had it earlier.
We put these jackets to the test when we recently took a trip to rainy NZ. I layered a fleece jacket under my raincoat and enjoyed our wildlife viewing ocean boat ride amid a steady downpour. We stayed nice and cozy, while not getting clammy. They packed small, so weren't hard to stuff in our suitcases either. I love this jacket and love the price. I ordered a large size, knowing I would want to layer and it worked perfect, even though I'm a medium usually. Hood cinched down nicely to keep out the wind.
