I liked this jacket with one exception. The hood does not detach which I knew when I ordered it. However, you cannot even roll it up under the collar when you do not need it!!! It just hangs there and the silver lining in the hood shows and is very tacky looking. It is really ugly. I was seriously thinking of returning it, but since I need a light weight rain jacket for summer, I am hesitating. I am looking at other places to see if I can find a comparable one with either a detachable hood or one that can be rolled up. And if I do, this one will go back. I wish LL Bean had one, as I like their quality. Other than that, the quality is typical LLBean and very good. Sorry!
This is a perfect lightweight rain jacket, easy to stuff in luggage to be available if needed but not taking up too much valuable space. It can look appropriate even when skies are clear. My only objection is that it feels a bit crinkly.
I've worn this rain jacket a lot since getting it, and received many compliments on it. Tough to choose a color, as they are all quite nice--- I ended up choosing the Meadow Violet. Definitely noticeable on a dreary day! You COULD even potentially wear this spring skiing with a nice thin, warm layer underneath! Lots of uses for this jacket!
Not entirely happy with this, yet didn't send it back. Cons: Sleeves aren't roomy and it fits tighter across the shoulders than I would like even after buying a size larger. The material is stiff and makes crackle noises when wearing it. Pros: it keeps the rain off and folds up very small for carrying or packing. Doesn't seem to be the same as the men's jacket that I bought for my husband.
