This jacket is perfect for my southern California climate as it can be layered. We don't get a lot of rain but when we do it can be excessive; we recently had a number of storms, I was outdoors a great deal but I was totally protected. I really liked the overall fit and it was true to size.
I ORDERED A SIZE UP TO WEAR OVER LAYERS...VERY SIMPLE, ITS NOT LINED OR DRESSY IF THATS WHAT YOUR LOOKING FOR. I LOVE THE CASUAL LOOK AND GREAT COVERAGE .
This is a terrific jacket. Each member of my family wears one. Perfect coverage in rainy weather. Perfect warmth when layered with a sweatshirt. Two-way zipper is perfect when you ride in a car.
If you're debating whether to get a lined rain jacket or not, here's my suggestion: This unlined jacket is perfect. You can wear a sweater underneath for colder rainy days, or a t-shirt for warmer rainy days. The hood has a velcro adjustment so you can determine how far over your forehead the hood falls. It has a double zipper so that you can zip it up on top then unzip the bottom if you need to. I love the jacket and love the fun color I got. Another great LLBean product!
