I was looking for a waterproof jacket that breathes...This is wonderful. Light weight, beautiful color... just what I wanted. I can put a fleece under it for nasty cold rainy days. I LOVE IT.
Purchased this jacket, as I work outside in all kinds of weather. Needed something waterproof. This jacket is outstanding. Keeps all rain out and I don't sweat on the inside like regular raincoats. The zipper is a little tough to start at times. Hood is larger, covers my glasses in the rain. Runs a little large which is good -fits a fleece underneath in cooler weather. Excellent value! Will be purchasing a backup!
I wanted a lightweight rain shell--which this definitely is. This is reasonably priced like most LL Bean merchandise, but unlike most it suffers so much in quality that it isn't a bargain. Maybe the one I ordered (October 2008) was defective, but the metal zipper was so balky I couldn't get it started. The single-layer fabric has a rubbery feel inside, and it smells a bit like rubberized jackets too. The jacket was skimpy (size large) and too snug across the hips for me. On the plus side, I liked the zip outside pockets and wish all LL Bean jackets had them. But it wasn't worth keeping, even as a backup jacket.
This light weight rain jacket is perfect! I debated whether it would be serviceable for all seasons before I ordered it. My qualms were put to rest when the jacket arrived. The light weight is perfect for summer wear and the jacket is roomy enough to allow me to wear a sweater underneath cooler weather comes.
