I bought this jacket for a 10 day trip to Ireland in September. I bought it a size bigger and wore short sleeve shirts under it. I was the only one dry in the group during a heavy rainand it rained most everyday. Loved the hood it stayed on during high winds & rain. Fit well in backpack, not taking up too much room.
So far I am really enjoying my rain jacket. I purchased perwinkle and love the color. Already lots of compliments. I have not had zipper problems as some have. I tend however, from experience, to zip with caution..slowly knowing that a stuck zipper can wreck the moment. I love the adjustible velcro wrists and roomy hood. I purchased a large (I am at 12-14 top) so that I would have room to layer in the cold weather. I think I will get plenty of year round use out of this jacket and love that it looks good and matches just about any color.
I would have rated it five stars for beauty (color-teal) and efficient packing (takes up very little room)when need layers while traveling north in the summer. (this year Canada and Scandinavia). But after reading the reviews, have to say I'm too lazy to take the trouble to zip it up-- sometimes a pain -- and it's not good for humidity. However, I've bought two of them in the past year, so obviously those disadvantages are not a big deal for me. I try to avoid vacationing where it's humid and hot!
This is a great light-weight rain jacket. It's light enough for any season. I wasn't bothered by the lack of lining. If there was one, I'd probably get too hot in the Summer. I can wear it with a t-shirt or a sweater.
