I tried two fleece jackets before I realized the vest was a better way to go. The fleece is heavy and can be layered under a coat when it is really cold. My husband also likes the three zippered pockets.
This fleece is great because its warm, comfy, a good size, and comes in black. The only down side is the collar does not fold down. This is the second one of these we have purchased over the years.
The fleece vest is very comfortable and fits nicely. Since I wear other long sleeve LL Bean fleece, this vest practically serves as my cool weather coat. The pockets are very useful, especially the left chest pocket which can easily hold your cell phone, passport or wallet.
