We bought this and--at first--were reasonably satisfied, though the color was not really a match with what one saw on the website. Then we tried to use it for sleeping. All the negatives you read in other comments apply. And, within 18 months, the fabric began to separate from the cushions, showing the bright, white plastic edging on the cushions. So, out of the LR and into the basement, where it sits. I think I will try to return, though part of me wonders if it will be worth the effort. I agree with several folks posting here: LLBean should not offer this item. I have probably bought several hundreds of items from LLBean over the past45+ years. This was the only real loser.
We bought both the sleeper sofa and chair. Love the design, perfect size for our small cottage. The sofa is a little larger than a loveseat and smaller than a couch. We bought the caramel fabric and like the way it looks (is more of a gold) but the fabric is not durable at all. We have had the set for about 3 months and the fabric is already falling apart. It pulls very easily. Also, the cushions do get mishapen very easily. The beds are VERY hard. Even my 8 year old son won't sleep on it. We are in the process of returning the set and LLBean is wonderful about returns. Overall, I think the furniture would be great for a spare room for guests but not for your main living room. I don't believe it would last more than year under normal use.
Love the color (red), but fabric is a magnet for pet fur (even more than most fabrics!). Sofa seat is very firm, but livable to sit on. BUT- it is horrible as a bed. Not just firm, it is hard and uncomfortable. It would be mean to make someone sleep on this (I did it myself for one night- awful). In the process of returning it. Customer service has been great. Love LL Bean, but hate, hate, hate this sofa.
I love my new microfiber red sleeper sofa! The sofa has high quality construction and beautiful fabric. The bed seems a little stiff to me but those that have slept on it have said it is very comfortable. I highly recommend this product.
