Disappointed
PostedAugust 30, 2008
I hate to dis LLBean, because their products are usually excellent, but this sofa was a mistake. The seat cushions lost their oomph right away. I feel like I am falling off the couch. We put the front legs on blocks and stuffed a blanket under the front part of the cushions to try to help the problem. We attempted to give it away to our son and he wouldn't take it. We have the multi-colored chenille fabric and that is excellent.

Disappointed

We bought this sofa at least six years ago and it has held up fairly well. What we haven't liked if the fact that you can't put a contour sheet on the bottom when making a bed making it impossible for the bottom sheet to stay tucked in at the top-not good. Also, with the back cushions on it makes the sofa very narow if you want to stretch out on it. We took the back cushions off and found this to be more comfortble. The color we bought at the time was a khaki and it did not hold up well at all. When spotcleaned it left bigger stains. The only advantage is it's light weight.

Loss of comfort over time
PostedJuly 30, 2008
I have had this sofa for about three years. The first two I never sat in it and it was fine. Once I started using it daily, the foam cushions wore out. It can't support the weight of my male friends - they sink below the cushions as there is no support in the frame. When I sit in it, I feel like I am falling off. Additionally, it is very difficult to clean and even water leaves a giant stain on the fabric (I have the tan color). I've heard it is only moderately comfortable to sleep on and there is no way to put a fitted sheet on it.

Great service as usual
PostedJuly 17, 2008
I had ordered the tan tweed sofa on sale because it was such a great deal (after looking for other sleeper sofas, I now know that even the full price sofa would be a great deal). Unfortunately, as other reviewers have said, the tan color I got was really a gold (and the tweed pattern was also not attractive). I wish I had liked the fabric because it was incredibly light and movable, a great size for an ap't, and pretty comfy as a bed. I agree the fabric of the cushions sagged a little after sitting, but smoothed out easily.
Anyway, I ended up returning the sofa because the tweed fabric was ugly, but LL Bean as usual had amazing customer service...I didn't want to pay return shipping since I thought the couch had been mis-represented in the online pic, but they actually even refunded me the initial freight/shipping costs! If they'd had it in a better fabric that matched my decor, I would have re-ordered it.
