My family went through many backpacks during their elementary school years. I finally bought one for my son when he was 11. The zipper broke after two years and LLBean replaced it! Now he will be going to college and the backpack will go with him. I got one for each of my daughters after LLBeans awesome service and their backpacks are still going strong after 5 years! Their backpacks will probably go with them to college also.
I ordered this bookpack over 8 years ago as an adult student and I used/abused it for 3 years as a student and I still use it everyday as a teacher!! I use the small pocket for pencils/pens. I use the lower pocket for meds. I use the smaller section for personal files and the larger section for teacher manuals and papers to grade. I use this book pack everyday and I have never been sorry for purchasing it. I love my bookpack and the only down side I have ever noted was it does not have a drink holder.
I bought this back pack for my granddaughter and she just loves it! She's entering the 9th grade and was so worried she wouldn't have room for all her things, that is before I gave her this one! Lots of room for lots of books and supplies. I bought it when it was a Daily Markdown and got such a great deal! I'm hooked on LL and look everday so see what's new or on sale! This Turbo Transit Pack was ordered for my third child starting junior high. My older son will be using his from 7th grade to start 10th grade this year and it still looks new! The zippers are in perfect shape, it has a lower pocket for a change of clothes/shoes and it is THE ONLY BACKPACK that will hold the books and supplies required for upper grades! I did not consider any other pack- I only asked him "which color?" No question... I would recommend this pack over any other! It should easily last my kids through college! Thanks, LL Bean!
