First off the quality of the pack is awesome! My son (is 15yrs of age) did not like the feel of the pack ~ for HIM he thought the straps were stiff (guess he did not want to break them in!) He did not hold all his school items like HE wanted it to, and the biggest issue for him was the bottom of the pack. The bottom shoes or small clothing can be stored ~ he did not like the extended flap that is on the bottom, it would hang up on his waist line of his pants. These are just his thoughts ~ but do not keep this from trying it for yourself everyone is different!!! :-)
First used this for a 2+ week trip to the UK. Needed more than 2 suitcases but abosolutely couldn't handle 3 suitcases! This was the best 'impulse' purchase ever.
First of all, it flatout holds a bunch of 'stuff'! Then you just pop it on your shoulders and easily handle 2 large suitcases. I put books/magazines in the bottom, along with an extra pair of shoes. In the little spot advertised for MP3 player, I popped my small wallet, passport and then my MP3 player.
By no means did I fill up this bag before heading over the 'pond'. However, while in the UK I seemed to have made a few purchases but had plenty of room to bring them home and avoid paying costly shipping fees.
Second use was my daugther-in-law's trip to Greece & Italy. She'll need to write her own review . . . please don't tell her 'Santa' getting her a Turbo for Christmas!
We have always loved LL Bean products, especially their replacement policy on bookbags. This is actually a replacement of a prior turbo transit bag. My 15yr old son loves it, it has lots of room, as well as several different compartments. It is also a nice feature that gym shoes and clothes can be carried seperately. He also likes it that the zipper goes all the way to the bottom of the bag on each side, allowing it to open very wide.
