It's a great back pack for the middle to high school age. My older son has been using the same back pack for 2 years and I just bought one for my younger son.
I have 3 school aged children who have gone through every backpack possible but this one!!! The is large enough for all the binders, textbooks, & misc schools can throw their way....plus...you get the great space for shoes at the bottom!!! What a bonus.

I only bought two of these backpacks last year because my daughter didn't want one. I had them both monogrammed and they look great!
This year, I had to come back to L.L. Bean for the same exact backpack for my other daughter (the one who didn't want one originally) for 2 reasons. 1 - her backback from last year fell apart...literally at the seams. 2 - the fabulous colors and prints that the backpack came in this year - I wanted one they are so cute. We ended up with the Pink Plaid monogrammed backpack.

We purchased the Turbo backpack for my 11 year old son this school year because there wasn't enough room his "last years" LLBean rolling backpack for all of his books and binders. We are very pleased with his new Turbo backpack- it is extremely roomy and sturdy. The problem is, that when loaded with all items deemed necessary by my son, the pack is too heavy to carry comfortably. We may have to go back to last years rolling pack.
