Last year was the first year, I ordered this backpack for my 10th grader. It held up pretty well, until my next door neighbor ran over it with her car.(that's a longer story). But you should know, I was so impressed by it's quality, I ordered another one this year. I'm very happy with LLBean products. Thanks for your quality.
The rounded rubber handle on the previous version was of much higher quality. The zipper handles rattle quite a lot with each step (it's impossible to sneak into a quiet classroom). Tuckable shoulder/waist straps would be nice, and it would be perfect if there were a laptop sleeve inside. Overall, however, I think this is a wonderful backpack.
