I have bought my daughter 2 backpacks every year for the last 10 years and two years ago we bought the turbopack. By far the best yet. I loved the way she could throw a change of clothes in the bottom of the pack (including sneakers) so she was ready for all her after school activities. BTW we buy every year because she likes new ones and we can afford it, not because they wear out. We donate the old bags to the local charity and I am sure they find many more years of service!
I got this backpack before starting my sophomore year of high school, expecting it to wear out in a few years like all of my other backpacks. I just graduated college, and after seven years of abuse this backpack is still with me and shows no signs of giving out any time soon.
The bottom pocket was the perfect size for holding my shoes when I played sports in high school, and the handle on the side is invaluable for controlling a heavy backpack, especially when traveling.
My son loves this backpack! It is the only one we found that is large enough to accomodate his heavy load of textbooks. The additional pockets in front are great for the small stuff and the zipped bottom area is large enough to hold an extra pair of shoes or a light jacket. I purchased another one this year for my second son who is entering high school. Great color choices, too!
