Absolutely love this backpack. It's very well made as well as lightweight and sturdy. All the compartments are easily accessible, and unlike some other backpacks, the straps don't dig into your shoulders when it's fully loaded. I am considering getting a second one for my husband when we travel.
It's simple; you buy great products you receive great service. All of our school aged children have the LL Bean bags they take some abuse and hold up better than any other brand. You get what you pay for, in this case quality.
3 of my 4 children have used this backpack for 7 years each. Nothing with stands the middle-high school years better than this one. I tried washing them on gentle cycle in a front load machine, hanging them to dry and they came out beautiful. The lighter colors had to be washed more than once but eventually came out clean.
Perfect for the suburban commuter! I am delighted with this pack. It has everything I was looking for, including: * a place for gym clothes (thoughtfully at the bottom in a separate compartment) * a compartment for laptop * storage for a couple of pens and a small divider in which to put a pad of paper. * a clasp to hold a set of keys * a compartment for an Ipod at the top, with peep hole through which you can connect the earbud cord -- and big enough to also hold you sunglass case. * Two outer zipper pockets for odds-and ends. * Plenty of room to bring a portfolio, and your lunch! Top it off with both top and side handles, quality construction and reflective surfaces, and you have the perfect bag.
