I bought one of these backpacks with my summer job money before sophomore year of high school. Since then I have used it nearly every day. In one week this bag and I start medical school together.
My girls have carried their backpacks through 4 years of High School. They got slung around, in and out of the car, in and out of various athletic practices -Very rugged and durable. I highly recommend this backpack. Prior to LL Bean's - we replaced their backpacks yearly.
I have 3 kids ... the youngest of which is now going into middle school. She needed a roomy backpack that would get her through 3 years of middle school and possibly 4 years of high school. This is the same backpack that my older daughter and son both used throughout middle school. It also got my daughter through 4 years of high school. That is one well-made backpack. Besides the roomy interior and the big outside pockets for odds and ends, they really like the compartment at the bottom for gym shoes, practice clothes or whatever things you wanted to keep separate from your classroom supplies. I fully expect that this may be the last backpack that I ever buy for any of my kids as the previous ones have been truly indestructable.
My son has really enjoyed using this school bag. It is very roomy and holds all of his books and more. Unfortunately, the zipper broke after a year of use. LL Bean's lifetime warranty is wonderful! It was so easy to return. We received a new school bag within two weeks.
