My high school daughter picked this out for herself after looking at the options. She particularly liked the compartment for her gym sneakers. She has also had LL Bean packbacks for her entire school years. She called the customer service rep to inquire as to whether or not she could have it replaced. She was told that if she sent her old one back (it had a unusable zipper) that LL Bean would give her half the cost of the new backpack. We ordered the new one and I did not even think about sending the old one in as I feel that we had gotten our money's worth and we would do so and beyond with the new backback. Plus, we have the old ones that they outgrew. I feel that I am ahead of the game. Thank you!
This item is well-made, and a very good value for the cost. But I bought it because of its overall dimensions, and those gave me an exaggerated expectation of capacity, which is unnecessarily diminished by the number of separate compartments.
I'm a grad student and I need to take lots of stuff to school on a daily basis. This bag allows me to take my binders and textbooks as well as my lunch and gym clothes and keep all my pens organized, all at the same time! And my books don't get wet in the rain like other bags I've used in the past. It's really comfortable and I just love using it!
Bought one for my daughter and she loved it! So much in fact she suggested that I get one for her boyfriend as a gift. Now he loves his as well. Any other family members need one, just ask Nonnie J.
