Bought based on long history of luggage type items from LL Bean. We have only had the pack a short time but are pleased with it to date. The true test will be how the stitching holds up after 1 year of use by a 13 year old boy. The padding, handles and zippers are well made and like the extra space underneath for gym items, etc.
I am a CSR1 and 2 during Peak however I had to take LL Bean employmnet off this Peak due to an operation I am still bouncing back from.
During Peak I have handled a number of orders for customers where we showed we shipped the proper item however what the customer received was not what they ordered at all.
I ordered the book pack and received a different book pack all together with the wrong letter on the pack. To make it worst it appears they sent me a pack they longer sell. I have returned it, received a refund and bought another pack with a different company.
Most of the mistakes made during Peak are based on the fact that LL Bean hires new people to help them out and the wrong things are ordered. It's not a valid excused because it should not happen and more so when it's a holiday gift.
This experiance has not turne me away from LL Bean I will go back next year however it has put me in the customers shoes and it will be an experiance which will only improve my service to the next person I receive a call from where this has happened. LL Bean by far is the best retailer out there for your money.
This is the second backpack I have bought for my teenage son. The first lasted about 2 years before the zipper came apart. I brought it back to the Outlet Store where I purchased and they happily gave me a store credit for another one. My son does tend to cram much into his back packs and that is why, I'm sure, there was too much stress on the zipper. I am overall pleased with the construction and quite pleased with the customer service at LL Bean!
Bought this extra large back pack for my daughter because she could no longer fit all her school gear in her old one. She loves this bag and can now easily fit everything she needs for the school day. Sturdy zippers because sometimes it is crammed pretty full. She loves the color too. This will be a back pack that will follow her all the way through high school
