This is a very high quality item and I believe this will last through 6th, 7th, and 8th grades. The free monogramming is a nice feature with the use of my LLBean Visa card.
This backpack has enough room for all my son's books, his lunch box and snowpants. The best feature is he can zip his shoes on the bottom and wear his boots to school. No more having to carry an extra bag for all his stuff! And what I love about LLBean is that they guarantee their products, so I know I have a quality item that will last years to come.
I have always been more than pleased with my products from LL Bean. That is why I have been saddened to see the unsatisfactory results we have experienced with the Turbo Transit Pack. I ordered this for my 14 year old son who is in the 8th grade. He needed a strong, heavy duty book bag and of course I chose Bean for its long hx of reliability. The back strap broke at the upper connection to the pack in only a couple of months use. I was shocked to see this. The size of the bag is great and the other features, compartments, color (black), bottom compartment for extra storage were all desirable features. However, the strap was very unsatisfactory. I had hoped for a number of years use of the bag for my son during high school and even college. I still have a pair of shoes I prdered from you when I was in under graduate school back in 1970I! have always been a huge fan of Bean products but I needed to let you know what has happened since this was my first unsatisfactory experience with your products. My son was left literally holding the bag filled with his books at school. Nevertheless, I thank you for all the years of good service up until now.
This backpack is amazing!!! It holds all of my stuff and i've had l.l. Bean backpacks before but none like this. It can hold my 3 inch binder 5 notebooks and 3-4 books. Also i keep my gym clothes on the bottom compartment. I got the Citron color but it does not look as yellow as the picture it is more of a lime green floresent yellow. I actually like it better than the picture on the computer. If you are a student that has to carry a ton of stuff this is the backpack for you. I would definitly reccommend this backpack! It is well worth the money!
