I purchased this pack for travel. I love the different compartments to keep everything neat & organized. My first use of the bag was a 5 day trip from MA to NC with my 10 year old daughter. I fit clothes for both of us in this one bag. Airport security was a breeze. I prefer carry-on at the airport. I love the bottom compartment for the shoes. One pair of shoes for myself & my daughter fit as well as my jacket. Amazing construction. LOTS of room. The side handle to carry like a suitcase is nice too. The compartment at the top (for Ipod etc) is large enough for several items. I keep airplane ticket or train tickets there. Very accessible. Go for the monogram. Nice especially if getting one for each family member. I will be purchasing one for my husband and daugter too. Just a note about airplane storage...I find this bag holds a lot of items which can make the bag puffy. Depending on the airline carrier it may make getting into the storage bin a challenge. I simply remove something from one of the smaller outer pockets (usually my book) and the problem is solved. Some airline carrier storage bins seem to be getting smaller (my opinion).
