Well when i was in high school,Ihad one of the original backpacks,and i loved it.Iwish that i could remember what happened to it after school.lol But i purchased one recently for my son who is in pre-k,and he loves it.
We ordered our first Junior Book Pack two years ago before my daughter started Kindergarten. She is now starting 2nd grade and, if not for just wanting a new color, she could definitely use it again this year. It has been amazingly durable and an overall great pack. My son is starting the second year with his; equally as pleased with durability. We've just ordered pack #3 for my youngest today! He's so excited to be like big brother and sister! The other great plus is the SIZE. The junior size is perfect for carrying the "work" loads of pre-k through 2nd grade (so far in our experience) and so much eaiser for my children to handle than average sized backpacks. Regarding an earlier comment about "too small" monogram size . . . we have had "block" and "new wave block" on solid color packs and the size/color has been just fine. Would recommed this product for any junior-sized students!
The quality of the bag is nice. The junior size is perfect for the younger student. However, the monograms are way smaller than shown. I got 2 bags with our last name on both. The font is almost as small as the LLBean logo on the front. The purple flower bag has purple thread for the monogram. It it almost completely invisible. Get a solid color if you even want to see it. Nice bag with disappointing monogram.
We use this as a diaper bag for our toddler, but he thinks he's a big boy and carries it himself, calling it his "pack-pack"! Traditional LLBean design and looks really nice with the monogram.
