I purchased the Junior Original Back Pack for my son as a transition from the diaper bag. It held up wonderfully for years, going to the babysitters, grandparents and on short trips. I just used the bag this weekend to pack some picnic/outdoor supplies ~ seven years after purchasing it! Great bag, great size, very durable! A must have for active kids!
I purchased 2 of these for my boys entering preschool. They did not use them excessively (attended 2x's per week), but holes wore in the bottom. The bottom is not reinforced like their other packs. We have since purchased the "Critter" packs and they're going on their 3rd year of use! MUCH better! Much more expected from LL Bean quality. My daughter is entering preK and I will not be able to purchase this for her, maybe a different one...
Nice-sized pack for my 4 year old with plenty of room for toys and books. This pack should be big enough for a few years. The fabric is sturdy and has a "nylon-y" feel. Great quality material and construction. My only gripe is that the monogram/sport figure that we ordered was a bit bunched up due to too much tension or not enough interfacing.
